Following an Australian Defence Force (ADF) needs analysis of its enlisted pre-hospital medical carer training continuum, a joint approach to the delivery of trade training was agreed upon by the organisation. The first course in the new training continuum was the Joint Medical Technician Basic Course (JMed), a 48 week residential course delivered at the Army Logistic Training Centre (ALTC) in Bonegilla, Victoria. The IAG team rapidly analysed, designed and developed a Moodle-based training package for use within the Australian Defence Electronic Learning Environment (ADELE) platform.

Our team undertook a customer engagement approach which embraced both programmatic and advisory meetings with ALTC staff. During critical stages of the delivery of the first JMed course, IAG ensured trained personnel were on-site to train ALTC staff on the use of the new package as well as to remediate any coding or technical issues encountered during the rollout of the product. To round out the project, IAG ensured all ADELE-based learning packages were accompanied with supporting assessments, trainer support references and a systems user guide providing tips on using the product and how the overall package was structured.
