The Central West Orana Renewable Energy Zone is a transformative and critical energy sector project commissioned by the Energy Corporation of New South Wales in a public private partnership with Acciona, Cobra and Endeavour Energy. It will significantly enhance New South Wales’s energy security and transition to new renewable energy sources as coal-fired generators are retired. The CWO REZ is the backbone that connects renewable energy generators and energy storage systems to transmission infrastructure via energy hubs. The project consists of the design of the infrastructure to support the future growth of renewable generation with the CWO REZ corridor, which consists of substations, energy hubs, switching stations and transmission lines.

IAG Services Delivered:

IAG personnel lead the civil design efforts for the complete D&C delivery, which included the civil components of the energy hubs and transmission lines as well as temporary works and road upgrades. The scope comprised about eighty design packages including critical packages required to achieve capital “C” Construction commencement.

IAG formulated the construction phase technical services strategy including resourcing which spans site technical support, temporary works, testing, commissioning and completions. In addition to the above, IAG provided commercial advisory services which included leading the resolution of variations associated with design packages.
